ACES // Artists of Color Expo & Symposium 2021
Attending this event?
ACES is a BIPOC-centered and led art conference. Our vision is to establish a space for artists of color to celebrate and center ourselves. We are coming together with intentionality to value our work and see one another as resources, while focusing on the challenges and solutions we face as artists of color in the Pacific Northwest.

I will be presenting the movements, music, and history of Capoeira Angola. I will start with a brief explanation about the roots of Capoeira Angola and the relationship with the slave trade and African Diaspora in South America. Then I will be moving to show each of the instruments we play for the Capoeira game and we will practice the basic movements of Capoeira. The public will welcome to follow my lead trying the basic steps to enter the world of Capoeira Angola
