Attending this event?
ACES is a BIPOC-centered and led art conference. Our vision is to establish a space for artists of color to celebrate and center ourselves. We are coming together with intentionality to value our work and see one another as resources, while focusing on the challenges and solutions we face as artists of color in the Pacific Northwest.

An opportunity to learn about artist Adetola Abatan's work, process, inspirations, and artistic philosophy.

Adetola Abatan is a collage artist who primarily works with paper and fabric. Her art speaks to multi-layered identities and the belief that we are more than one skill or interest even as we evolve and find places of belonging. Her collage work is often whimsical and surreal, a juxtaposition of black and/or female bodies and the struggles of personhood, faith, and wholeness. What does it mean to be one’s intersectional self when society- even within one’s own community- can only see one layer, one box at a time? She is currently earning an MFA in Arts Leadership at Seattle University while deepening her mixed media and collage experience.
