ACES // Artists of Color Expo & Symposium 2021
Attending this event?
ACES is a BIPOC-centered and led art conference. Our vision is to establish a space for artists of color to celebrate and center ourselves. We are coming together with intentionality to value our work and see one another as resources, while focusing on the challenges and solutions we face as artists of color in the Pacific Northwest.

Maya Angelou once said that "there is no greater burden than an untold story". when we bring our fullest, most authentic & vulnerable selves to the table, we encourage others to create brave spaces for themselves to be seen, heard & valued. when we live at the intersections of our truest selves, we dismantle the white delusional notion that we must compartmentalize ourselves in order to survive. i would like to offer a 10-20 minute exploration into the story of SELF. an academic, cultural & artistic showcase of my own story as a survivor of human trafficking & trans warrior will weave deep inquiries for the viewer about what it means to be liberated in ourselves & embody a commitment to liberate others. I am currently working on a collaborative short documentary that will inform more of this work.
